Showcasing regional excellence in innovation and digital tech start-ups

Puglia is an emerging region in the southeast of Italy, steeped in history but as innovative as the Silicon Valley, where the endless beauty of the sea and rural landscapes have turned it into a top tourist destination and where the high quality of life represents an asset for local businesses.

The regional government stands out for its commitment to investment in research and innovation, focusing mainly on smart technologies and providing a significant boost both to hi-tech and traditional sectors, encouraging investments in sustainable manufacturing, digitalization and intelligent energy systems

Over the past few years, regional incentive schemes such as TecnoNidi, PIN and Talent Extraction have been set-up to provide financial aid and assistance to innovative start-ups setting up in the region. Today there are 680 start-ups and 114 innovative SMEs registered active in Puglia and the region ranks second in Southern Italy for the number of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.These companies are bringing smart ideas and dynamism to the local economy, strengthening the wider regional ecosystem for research and innovation, especially in the IT sector which currently accounts for a total of over 4,900 companies and 13,466 employees in Puglia, with a record export performance export in 2021, for a value of 120 million euros.Puglia Region will be participating in the Dublin Tech Summit 2022 technology conference, scheduled in Dublin from 15 to 16 June 2022, to showcase regional excellence in IT, with a delegation of 10 start-ups and innovative SMEs from Apulia, active in digital technologies.The regional delegation will be hosted in Hall 1 – Stand B2 and will be accompanied by Puglia Sviluppo, the regional government’s finance company that manages funding and incentive initiatives for business investments in Puglia and provides support to start-ups and investors, guiding them step-by-step through the investment process.

The regional delegation will be participating in the networking event “Dublin Tech Summit Matchmaking Event 2022”, organized by Een (Enterprise Europe Network) – the largest European network of services to help small and medium-sized enterprises improve competitiveness and innovation potential – in collaboration with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, as well as taking advantage of the other networking opportunities. Puglia Sviluppo will also be on stand, helping to promote innovation made in Puglia and to attract investments in the technological sectors.
