A Look into DTS StartUp100 Programme

The StartUp100 Programme is an integral part of Dublin Tech Summit and offers burgeoning companies an opportunity to showcase their potential to a wide and varied audience. Daniel Kyne, StartUp100 Programme Manager offers insights into the process behind the initiative.

The StartUp100 Programme is bringing 100 early-stage companies from all over the world to DTS for two days of workshops, pitching and networking. Each of the startups receive a two-day exhibition stand, entry into our StartUp100 Pitch Competition, and access into our StartUp Workshops – taking place over both days of the conference. The opportunity to exhibit to 10,000 attendees alongside major industry leaders such as eir, Accenture and Intel is a core aspect of the StartUp100 Programme. With startups coming from not only Galway, Cork and Dublin but from as far as Australia, South Africa and Bangladesh, the programme truly embodies the ‘global’ aspect of DTS as a conference.

The StartUp100 Pitch Competition is another major feature of the initiative. Through an online competition before the conference, whereby all 100 companies submit a 2 minute pitch video, 50 companies will be selected to present on the StartUp100 Pitch Competition Stage at DTS. Finally, the StartUp Lab, our workshops stage, will bring two days of hands-on talks and seminars just for our startup attendees, packed with information that will help them grow their company and avoid the typical pitfalls involved in scaling an early-stage tech company.

Companies selected have gone through a thorough selection process carried out by the startups team at DTS. With only 100 startups being accepted into the programme, diversity is a priority. Our team is focused on maintaining this diversity by selecting an even number of startups that are Irish and international, those that have received investment and those that are bootstrapped, and selecting only a few startups from each of the main industries of technology.

All 100 startups that take part in the StartUp100 Programme receive membership to the invite-only “F6S Alpha Program”. This gives startups access to over $1 million worth of free growth services, including over 2,000 membership points with the airlines such as British Airways and American Airlines, exclusive ongoing savings and upgrades from leading hotels, free car rental and ride-sharing services and also complimentary access to the best coworking spaces around the world.

To see the entire programme come to together and to witness the palpable excitement amongst participants is hugely thrilling for us. StartUp100 participants have been some of the most active users of the DTS app. To witness these entrepreneurs across the globe connect and share their stories, visions and experiences really validates what we’ve been working towards over the past few months. We’re incredibly proud of the innovative and scalable companies we have joining us this year and are confident DTS attendees will be as well.

Make sure and check out the StartUp100 tab on the DTS app or online and take a look at the companies that are getting ready to showcase at DTS in February at the CCD.
